On 18–19 June 2026, the regional judicial seminar “Applying the Common European Asylum System Reforms in the Baltic States” was held in Tallinn, Estonia. The event was organised by the Supreme Court of Estonia in cooperation with the European Union Agency for Asylum (EUAA).
The seminar brought together judges, legal professionals, and experts from EU Member States bordering the Baltic Sea. Its purpose was to discuss the challenges associated with the implementation of the Pact on Migration and Asylum, as well as the role of national courts in ensuring the consistent interpretation and application of the new legal framework.
Three judges of the Supreme Administrative Court of Poland and two judges of the Regional Administrative Courts, delegated to adjudicate at the Supreme Administrative Court, took part in the seminar. The President of the Supreme Administrative Court, Jacek Chlebny, delivered a presentation entitled “Refusal and Ending of Protection: Balancing Protection and Security”.
