Visit of a delegation from the Council of State of the Republic of Italy

On 29–30 October 2024, a delegation from the Council of State of the Republic of Italy, led by the President of the Council of State, Luigi Maruotti, visited the Supreme Administrative Court. He was accompanied by members of the Council of State: Marina Perrelli, Michele Conforti and Luca Lamberti, as well as advisor to the President of the Council of State, Marcello Apicella.

During the visit, the President of the Council of State, Luigi Maruotti, gave a lecture at the Supreme Administrative Court entitled "The role of the Council of State in the Italian legal system. The principle of effectiveness and the right to appeal".

The program of the visit also included a joint Polish-Italian seminar on the functioning and current problems of administrative courts in both countries, which was opened by the President of the Supreme Administrative Court, prof. dr hab. Jacek Chlebny. The meeting was also attended by the Vice-President of the Supreme Administrative Court, Jan Rudowski - President of the Financial Chamber.

During the seminar, the following issues were discussed, among others: issues of impartiality and independence of judges in relation to digitalization, as well as the principle of effectiveness in relation to the execution of judgments and in relation to the adjudication of security measures. Polish and Italian papers were presented respectively by: Judge Marina Perrelli and the President of the Supreme Administrative Court, Prof. Dr. Hab. Jacek Chlebny, Judge of the Supreme Administrative Court, Dr. Anna Dumas – President of the Voivodship Administrative Court in Kraków and Judge Luca Lamberti, and Judge of the Supreme Administrative Court, Ryszard Pęk and Judge Michele Conforti.

After the seminar, both delegations met with HE Luca Franchetti Pardo, Ambassador of Italy, at the seat of the Embassy of the Italian Republic in Poland.
