Maria Wiśniewska

Vice-President of the Supreme Administrative Court and – Director of the Judicial Decisions Bureau

 

Graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Wroclaw. After obtaining Master’s degree in law in 1971, she completed her legal training. In 1976 she was appointed a judge at the District Court of Jawor, and subsequently in Trzebnica and Wrocław, where she held the position of the president of 1st Civil Division. On 1st October 1982 she was delegated to act as a judge at the Voivodship Court in Wrocław. In 1983 she was appointed a judge of the said Court. In the years 1990-2000 she held the position of the president of 1st Civil Divison, than position of the inspecting judge for civil law and subsequently president of the Appellate Civil Division.

On 4th January 2000 was appointed by the President of the Republic of Poland to the post of judge of the Supreme Administrative Court.

Due to the establishment of the Voivodship Administrative Court in Warsaw, on 1st  January 2004 she was transferred to the said Court, where she acted as president of the 1st Division and Vice-President of the Court.

On 1st December 2004 she was transferred to the Supreme Administrative Court and assigned to adjudicate at the General Administrative Chamber. Concurrently, she was appointed to the post of Head of Inspection Division at the Judicial Decisions Bureau of SAC. On 1st April 2011 she was appointed to the post of the Deputy Director of the Judicial Decisions Bureau. On 12th July 2012 she became the Director of the Judicial Decisions Bureau of SAC.

By the order of the President of the Republic of Poland of 18th March 2016, with effect from 10th April 2015, she was appointed to the post of the Vice-President of the Supreme Administrative Court.
